The Sulphur-crested Cockatoo is a striking and unmistakable parrot, known for its vivid yellow crest that dramatically fans out when the bird is excited or alarmed. Their presence is hard to miss, both visually and audibly, as these gregarious and social birds are often seen and heard from miles away.

While not known for their melodious voices, Sulphur-crested Cockatoos produce a wide range of calls—none particularly pleasant. In large flocks, their cries can be piercing and deafening, echoing across the landscape.

These cockatoos are found in diverse woodlands across northern and eastern Australia, including Tasmania, and even in parts of Perth, New Guinea, and the Aru Islands.

Much like a rising sun symbolizing a new day, the Sulphur-crested Cockatoo can represent new beginnings, fresh opportunities, and a shift in perspective. It brightens the path ahead, clarifies situations, and offers a vision of a promising and vibrant future.
